‘They heard the hum of our motors. And waited for us to arrive.’

I never made it to Saigon, though I might have — if I’d have re-upped for two years. (Yeah. Like that was going to happen.) Still, knowing what I know now, it might have been worth it. I coulda said, “Been there . . .” Can’t say that now. But what I can say is that, just as during the conflict, Saigon's dramatic swan song produced many heroic acts by Americans.
