Sometimes 'The Best and the Brightest' can be Dumb and Dumber

Back in 1972, David Halberstam wrote a book about the genesis of the Vietnam War called "The Best and the Brightest." Its message: Academics and intellectuals in John Kennedy’s administration contributed to the disaster in Vietnam. How could such bright people give dumb advice? Maybe it's because they had a ton of book-learnin' but not a lot of common sense. Sadly, things haven't changed much. As Yogi Berra used to say, “It’s like déjà vu all over again." I agree. —  LINK
